Welcome to Memoryscapes. This is a project exploring how to take heritage out of museums and embed them in urban redevelopment schemes to enhance accessibility to and interpretation of shared histories, as well as investigating how the public can contribute their own stories. To do this we’re examining immersive technologies such as virtual and augment reality, 3D audio effects, haptic technologies, machine olfaction, gesture and speech recognition, and bespoke software. Funding comes from the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
